Edited by: General Windypops on 01/07/2011 20:07:32 Poor little Miilla. Not been a good week. S(he) has just been telling me in great detail what a total flop the supposed protest campaign has been.
During discussion of the need to use multiple characters on one account on the 'That's it I'm quitting' thread (so that it makes it look as if thousands of people are quitting rather than a handful) Miilla conceded that the actual number quitting is utterly insignificant.
I'll post more about this later, but in the meantime here's a little snippet of Miiiiillllla's chat.

(Removed the discussion of banned topics from this thread to keep it clean).
Sorry to hear your little tantrum was such a disaster guys :( CSM 6: Let's get Windypops indypops. |

No - it's a highly relevant thread that in its last incarnation discussed something we're not allowed to discuss. This thread is now free to soar like a bird around the forum.

Now now. Keep it nice. Why did it fail, I wonder?
- Because people actually expected CCP to do something like this and didn't find it shocking? - Because after the initial outrage the campaign was hijacked by the rabble minority, becoming immature and petty? - Because at the end of the day people actually just love playing the game?

Originally by: Alara IonStorm Meh, your opinions on quiting don't concern me. I posted once in that thread to say I was quiting if this is not resolved and come the 16th and I will if I do not like the contents of the joint CCP/CSM Meeting.
I don't care how many alts a troll posted or how my account will effect CCP. Other players can do what they want, stay or go I don't really care.
I will wait till tommorows release to decide.
So you're going to quit a game you love because there was a slightly controvertial article in one of the internal newsletters.

Sad that you need back up. You were one of the best back in the day Windy
I even voted for you in your failed attempt at becoming a CSM member...
This lame post is beneath you. Please take a breath, walk away from the computer and come back swinging like the Windy we used to know.
If his keeps up Snotshot will be the only true wit on the forums.
I heard even Butterdog has been spayed
I believed you up to the point I bolded. Everyone knows that absolutely NO-ONE voted for my CSM bid.

At the risk of being seen to be arrogant I'm actually pretty sure that my own role in exposing the pathetic lies and duplicity of those claiming to quit in this thread played a pretty major part. Once I'd exposed the fact that almost no-one was actually quitting, and it was only a small number of people using uncorped alts the press / media kind of lost interest.
Once the media realised they were lying it took the wind out of the protest movement's sails.

There is so much wrong with this post that I don't even know where to start....
However, I will bold the part that made me laugh.
Ok so it's just a coincidence that I exposed the fact that 75% of the 'quitters' were lying at exactly the time that the campaign fell off the rails....

Edited by: General Windypops on 01/07/2011 22:49:59 OK so it's a friday night and I've had a few beers, but I'm starting to feel a little emotional and insecure don't you. You guys do like me more than you like Miiilllla, right? I mean I know (s)he was apparently JUST about to make some AMAAAAAZZZZING apps or something but you do love me more, right?
Edit: Oh god, I worry that now I've asked you you'll all see it as a sign of weakness.

So, a week and half later and finally the rest of the player base accepts what the more intelligent among us knew from the start. No in game advantage, newsletter was just internal agent provocateur. Kind of amusing seeing how utterly over excited many of you got over a leaked crappy newsletter and some rather poor external comms.
I guess once again I was right, but I did enjoy trolling those of you who weren't intelligent enough to see what was going on. CSM 6: Let's get Windypops indypops. |
